Excerpt from Muscle Explosion: 28 Days to Maximum Mass
The Most Efficient Cardio You Can Perform
By: Nick Nilsson
Interval Training is simply THE most efficient type of cardio you can perform. You can get pretty much ALL the benefits of longer-duration cardio but without the long duration. Moreover, you don’t get the boredom, you don’t spend all your time doing it, and you don’t have nearly the risk of overuse injuries.
In a Nutshell:
Low-intensity exercise is defined as working at a heart rate of about 60 percent to 65 percent of your maximum heart rate (equal to 220 minus your age; thus, if you are 20 years old, 220 minus 20 is 200 maximum heart rate).
High-intensity exercise is defined as working at about 75 percent to 85 percent or more of your maximum heart rate. Using the example of 200 as your maximum heart rate, working at 60 percent of it would be 120 beats per minute. Eighty percent would be 160 beats per minute.

What is Creatine?
Creatine is made up of the amino acids arginine, glycine and L-methionine, which are synthesized in the liver and kidneys. Some creatine is obtained naturally from meat and fish in the diet, particularly those containing high levels such as beef, tuna and herring though some is destroyed when meat is cooked. An average human has approximately 120 grams of creatine in the body at any one time and this is broken down into creatinine at the rate of 2 grams a day and excreted by the kidneys.
Functions of Creatine
Creatine is stored in the muscles of the body and is used to produce energy for muscle contraction. During exercise the muscle contraction and relaxation requires energy. This is obtained when adenosine triphosphate (ATP) is broken down into adenosine diphosphate (ADP) in a process called dephosphorylation. The free energy that is released can then be used by the muscles.
The phosphastes in creatine are then used to rebuild ATP from ADP, so theoretically the more creatine in your muscles, the quicker ATP can be restored, resulting in more energy available in the muscles. Creatine is used for both strength gains and muscle gains, and is often associated with increased stamina over a short period of time.

I want to tell you about a pretty cool new website today. If you’ve been hanging around the health and fitness website industry for a while now, you might remember HealthRanker, a health news social voting site, where popular articles are voted to prominence and end up on page 1. Well, HealthRanker was bought and destroyed a year or so ago, my attempts to make a clone called FitWire failed miserable, and now there is a new player on the scene.
Introducing FitMarker!

Wings of Nature Snack Bars – Cranberry Crunch Review
At Project Swole I receive all kinds of offers to try free samples and then review them on my blog. Some successful reviews in the past have been for Zola Acai, Sobe Lifewater, and the Venom Energy Drink. There have also been some pretty horrible free samples sent to me; someone once sent me some kind of lemonade ice cube diet product that was totally lame.
Fortunately some free samples work out great! I recently got to experience a free sample delight when the Wings of Nature folks recently sent me their 3 organic snack bars and I must say they are straight yummy.
Wings of Nature has this great new line of certified organic fruit, nut, and coffee bars. They are made using a cold process rather than baking or cooking, which allows them to retain the wholesome taste, texture, and nutritional properties of their all-natural whole food ingredients.

Wings of Nature Snack Bars – Almond Raisin Review
Often when I review products on Project Swole, it is because I receive an offer to try a free sample in exchange for posting a review online. Incidentally, I NEVER accept money in exchange for positive reviews. Any review you find on Project Swole is legit; I tried it and I liked it.
In the past, some of my positive reviews have been for Acai Roots, Captains of Crush grippers, Sobe Lifewater, and Optimum Nutrition protein powder. I have definitely receive a couple of horrible free samples like a disgusting acai powder and some lemonade ice cube diet, both of which I never bothered to review; and a half-cheesy workout book that pretty much just contained a bunch of still photos.
But as I mentioned, some free samples work out great, including a recent batch of organic snack bars by Wings of Nature. Each of the three snack bars they sent me are simply delicious. Snacking on these bars is definitely a positive health habit.
The Wings of Nature folks have produced a tasty new line of certified organic fruit, nut, and coffee bars. Each bar is made using a cold process rather than baking or cooking, which allows them to retain the wholesome taste, texture, and nutritional properties of their all-natural whole food ingredients.

Wings of Nature Snack Bars – Almond Raisin Review
I receive numerous offers to try free samples of food, health, and exercise products in exchange for a review on Project Swole. I have had several successful reviews in the past including Sambazon Acai, Venom Energy Drink, and Sobe Lifewater. There have also been some pretty horrible free samples sent to me; I recently tried some Celsius energy drink powder mix that was straight gaggable (oddly enough, the premixed drink in a can was great).
Just recently got to experience a taste extravaganze when the Wings of Nature folks sent me 3 of their organic snack bars. I have to admit that each bar is pretty fricken tasty. Often my free samples will sit around the house (or get tossed in the trash, in the case of the Celsius drink powders), but these bars were gone is just a few short days.

Here is my review of a local dentist from Concord, NH. Dr. Mostafa El Sherif is one of the few dentists in the area to specialize in cosmetic dentistry. He does lots of work on teeth whitening, bridges, implants, caps, veneers, etc… Too bad he’s rude, uncompassionate, and greedy.
Why to Avoid Dr. Mostafa El-Sherif
Dr. Mostafa El-Sherif is a scumbag. All he cares about is the almighty dollar. Let me tell you about a situation wherein Sally, we will call her Sally, had a loose veneer on her front tooth. It started to become so loose that after a while that it would fall out randomly while talking or walking and it caused her great stress while eating.
On the first visit, all Sally wanted was for Dr. El-Sherif to cement the tooth back onto its post while she saved up to pay for a full implant. Dr. El-Sherif refused, saying instead that it would be cheaper, easier, and better for everyone if she could just come back with the money to replace BOTH of her front teeth. Since the second tooth was also a veneer, he wanted to take both teeth out (extractions) and replace them with implants for well-over $10,000. He wouldn’t do a thing for her without that money up front.
Now, Sally has no dental insurance and she sure as hell doesn’t have $10k sitting in the bank. El-Sherif would not help her at all. Instead he left everything alone and refused to do any work until she could come up with the payment in full. All she wanted was to have the veneer cemented back onto the post so that it wouldn’t constantly bug her until she could save up for the implant.

So I read a study in Consumer Reports today about the content of heavy metals in protein drinks. The metals of concern are deadly when humans are exposed to them, even is small concentrations, over many years: arsenic, mercury, lead, and cadmium.
I wouldn’t exactly call the results of the study tragic, but I definitely think Project Swole readers should be aware and should avoid certain products.
Read the report here: What’s in YOUR protein drink?

My Review
I posted an article written by the authors of the book Hardcore Circuit Training for Men the other day, called Losing Weight with Circuit Training. Since then I found my copy of the book and finished looking through it.
Here is what I think:
First and foremost, despite the book’s title, this is not just a book for men. These circuits can be used and adapted by women and even kids. It can be used by weightlifters, triathlon athletes, regular athletes, MMA fighters, boxers, and pretty much anyone else who is looking to develop their conditioning.

I tried some of this stuff and it’s pretty darn good!
By now you are probably somewhat familiar with the name acai; this powerful fruit that grows in the Brazilian Amazon and is now becoming a sensation worldwide. However, not many of you have probably heard of Freeze Dried Powder Acai.
Well folks, let me explain; the name stands for a specific process which the fruit goes through after it is harvested. However there are different technologies that can be use to maximize the benefits of the fruits using this process.
Unlike other acai berry extracts (4:1), Acai Roots pure freeze dried acai is extracted from the acai berry using cutting edge low temperature technology, which preserves the majority of antioxidants and nutrients found in the acai berry. Other suppliers often use a different method to extract due to a lower cost; these methods are often based on the utilization of heat (spray drying) along with additional substances, which causes the elimination of most health benefits of the acai berry.
