Jillian Michaels RIPPED in 30 FREE DVD Giveaway

Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30
Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30

I still have 8 of these babies to give away to YOU for free!
1 winner will be chosen every Friday from 9/23/11 – 11/11/11!

Update!

That’s right, I gave away a dozen or so of these DVDs back before it ever came out. Now, 6 months later, everyone loves the DVD and I seem to have uncovered another 8 copies! They don’t do anyone any good sitting around my computer, so instead of selling them, I’m going to give them away.

All you have to do is follow the simple qualifying instructions, and you could win a copy too. All previous entries are null and void, so lets restart this campaign and give some DVDs away for free.

I’m sure plenty of you will enjoy working out at home in your living room instead of dragging your butt to the gym. Actually the Jillian workout would be great for anyone looking to take a day off from weight training, and it would be perfect for anyone who regularly works out at home, especially those who use DVD workouts.

Introducing the Project Swole Forums

Thursday, March 24th, 2011

Allow me to direct your attention to the Project Swole Forums. Build muscle and lose fat by sharing your training secrets, diet strategies, progress updates, and supplement reviews; or discuss anything remotely related to health and fitness.

Visit the Swole Forums at forum.projectswole.com

Fitness ForumThis will be a great way for me and all you Swole readers to talk about health and fitness topics that I just don’t have time to write individual posts about. There is also an area for posting progress pics, workout routines, or anything else you can come up with to show off your goods. My only request is this: let’s not make it a sausage fest on the pics forum… if you guys are going to post progress pics, can we please get some ladies to pose and post once a in while?

Down with the Swole Contact Form!

I want to transition from using the Swole contact form to the Swole Forums, for asking questions about health and fitness. Lord knows I get way too many e-mails on a daily basis, and I just can’t keep up with them.

The Swole contact form can still be used to ask questions about advertising, guest posts, or anything extremely private, but again I can’t guarantee a timely response.

Forum Moderators Needed

Months ago I posted about the upcoming forums and had several volunteers to help moderate. Well, now that the forums are actually up and running, I will need some moderators. So, anyone who has a couple hours a week to help answer questions and/or keep the forums clean of spam and trolls, I need YOU!

Unfortunately this is 100% volunteer work. I won’t be able to pay you for your help, but you will get a ton of kudos and I’ll help promote any projects you have going on. Leave a comment on this post to volunteer, and let me know if you have any relevant experience with moderating forums, developing websites, personal training, health topics, or nutrition advice.

That’s it! Let’s get the forums rockin’ ASAP and we’ll really have a sweet community going on at Project Swole.

Visit the Swole Forums at forum.projectswole.com

I’m also going to link to the forums up on the top menu, so you don’t have to bookmark it if you don’t want. ;-)

By the way, even if you registered with the blog, you’ll still have to re-register at the forums. I’m not about to try to code a bridge between phpBB and WordPress, sorry.

Introducing FitMarker.com

Friday, December 10th, 2010

I want to tell you about a pretty cool new website today. If you’ve been hanging around the health and fitness website industry for a while now, you might remember HealthRanker, a health news social voting site, where popular articles are voted to prominence and end up on page 1. Well, HealthRanker was bought and destroyed a year or so ago, my attempts to make a clone called FitWire failed miserable, and now there is a new player on the scene.

Project Swole Joins Hive Health Media

Friday, October 1st, 2010

What is Hive Health Media?

  • Hive Health Media is first and foremost a website that feels like a blog and acts like a newspaper.
  • A network of the best health, fitness, food, and nutrition bloggers online.
  • A source of unique, innovative content about your favorite health topics.
  • A tool that you can use to drive traffic to your website by submitting guest posts.
  • A tool that you can use to increase your visibility to Google and get more search engine traffic.
  • A way for the little blogger to compete with industry giants like Mens Health, Diets in Review, and Live Strong.
  • An avenue to make some extra money when you decide to join the network.
Alexa Graph
Swole vs. Mens Health, Live Strong, and Diets in Review: No Contest

As you can see from the graph, I can’t do everything myself. Sites with multiple authors get more traffic, get ranked quicker, and ultimately become more prominent in the highly competitive health-website niche.

Project Swole on Facebook

Tuesday, January 5th, 2010

I’m not 100% sure where I’m going with this, but Project Swole is now on Facebook with a very basic Facebook Page. Soon I’ll get around to pimping it out and I’m currently learning a bunch of different ways to post to it. To become a fan, go ahead and click on this link: Project Swole on Facebook.

The new design will have an easy-to-find Facebook badge so if you forget to join, there will be ample opportunities at a later date.

In the meantime, let me know how best I can utilize the new Facebook Page. I have some ideas, but would like to hear from you all as well.

Project Swole’s First YouTube Video

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

It is a milestone for Project Swole! This is the very first Project Swole video anywhere. Unfortunately I outsourced it to someone in India and it just might be the very worst video I have ever seen in my life. Go ahead and watch it but I don’t blame you if you hit ‘STOP’ after just 10 seconds.

Let’s hope the next Project Swole video at least has music or a voice over. Yikes!

A Guest Post on Diets in Review

Tuesday, February 10th, 2009

Look, now I’m turning up in other places online!

Somehow dietsinreview.com gave me an opportunity to write a guest post. You can find it at How to Train Legs part 1.

I had originally written a 1500 word article for this, but ended up having to shorten it to 2, 500 word pieces. Now I know what it feels like when a Hollywood director is forced to cut 20 minutes off of his movie to be able to get his R rated movie down to a PG-13 rating.

Thanks to Diets in Review for giving me my first chance to write a unique guest post on a high profile website.

I also published a guest post from Heather Ashare of Diets in Review fame. You can find that post at Yoga for Men. Thanks Heather!

Health Ranker Bookmarklet For Your Browser

Tuesday, November 18th, 2008
Health Ranker
Health Ranker

I am a social networking and social bookmarking addict. I have profiles on both Facebook and MySpace, and I bookmark URLs on such sites as Digg, StumbleUpon, Mixx, Propeller, Reddit, Delicious, and HealthRanker. Some of those sites such as Delicious are simply for bookmarking, while others like Digg are for voting on, and commenting on, popular news stories.

Health Ranker is one of my favorite social bookmarking websites due to its health and fitness theme (I hear a new site is coming out soon targeted specifically for exercise and nutrition, but that’s a discussion for a different day). I’ve just never been able to get my hands on a browser bookmarklet for HealthRanker.com. All that changes today…
