Hashimoto’s disease is a condition in which the immune system attacks the thyroid, which is a small gland at the base of the neck. The thyroid gland is part of your endocrine system, which produces hormones that coordinate many of your body’s functions. Usually Hashimoto’s causes inflammation that essentially fatigues the thyroid, causing hypothyroidism which can lead to rapid weight gain.

Thyroid fatigue problems are the cause of many people’s suffering. Modern solutions like the aip diet have made it a little easier for people to cope with this problem but the fact remains that many are unaware of what they should do in order to ease their own situation.

If you are newly diagnosed or one of your close ones have told you that they suffer from thyroid fatigue,  you are probably eager to lend a helping hand, either to your friends and family or to yourself. Either way, we are going to give you a few tips on what you should do in order to combat this problem more effectively and to make things a whole lot easier.

Vitamin D is very important

Autoimmune problems have been associated with considerable lack of Vitamin D in the body. This means that you need to keep your Vitamin D levels up at all times. There are plenty healthy snacks that you can use in order to give yourself a Vitamin D boost once in a while.

Focus on incorporating saturated fats at every sitting

Saturated fats play a very important role in how your body is taken care of and how your body handles things like inflammations. Fats in general might be best avoided in large quantities but saturated fats received from appropriate sources such as tallow, coconut oil or even lard make a tremendous difference for your body, in a good way.

Take a look at your cooking utensils

It’s not about just the food that you consume but also about the way in which it was prepared. And the preparation of food starts with the utensils you use in the kitchen. This means that you need to make sure that you don’t use any pans and pots that contain metals and chemicals which could heavily mess with your health.

Consider using unprocessed sea salt

The salt that you are using right now is most likely not unprocessed. And before you ask, yes, they are processing everything, even the salt. The processed salt that you might be using can contain corn derived sugar as well as other elements which are best avoided. Unprocessed seal salt however comes in a pure form that contains a lot of nutrients for the body. Definitely try and give it a shot.

It’s time to play nice with carbs

People today are declaring open war to carbs, but that shouldn’t be the case. If you don’t consume enough carbs in your diet, you can go to the other extreme which isn’t good.  If you don’t have carbs you body won’t be able to provide the adrenals with fuel to function properly. That’s not the only carbohydrate lover in your body as your organs also make use of carbs.

Drink less coffee

Coffee might be an important part of your morning ritual but when you’re dealing with problems like thyroid fatigue and whatnot, it’s best to avoid consuming high quantities.  Coffee can actually put a toll on your adrenal glands which means that your thyroid is going to get even more unwanted stress and attention.

Sugar should go

Sugar needs to go completely from your diet because it is capable of causing inflammation throughout the body. That’s the last thing that you need, so it’s best if you avoid it by just not consuming sugar anymore.
