![]() Manny Ramirez |
As a Red Sox fan, I feel the need to vent about Manny Ramirez. You’ve heard the expression, “It’s just Manny being Manny”, well the reality is, as ESPN put it, “It’s just Manny being about Manny”. This guy is a jerk. He doesn’t care about the fans or the team or his teammates. Every single year he complains about the Red Sox, says he is sick of the team, that he wants to be traded. This is fine by me. I say, “Trade the fat bastard.”
Greedy Bastard
Here I am struggling to make ends meet with all my bills and family obligations, and this guy makes $168 million. Then he has an opportunity to make another $20 million next year if the Red Sox pick up his option, but THAT’S NOT ENOUGH MONEY FOR HIM! Instead he wants a 4 year, $100 million contract, which is fine considering the money players make these days, but the ass won’t even play out the season in good faith because the Sox won’t sign the contract that he wants.
The Red Sox fulfilled their part of the obligation by ponying up the $168 million, but Manny wants out of his portion of the deal. He does not want to wait for the Red Sox to exercise their right to pick up his option for 2009, instead he wants his new $100 million deal now. If I called out of work sick 2-3 days a week, but everyone knew I was just calling out because I couldn’t get a raise; and if I complained all the time about my boss and the company executives, saying that I was sick of them and sick of the company, I’d be fired.
Lazy Bastard
There are at least 4 pitchers that Manny refuses to face. Presumably because they own him and he doesn’t want to mess up his stats. So in true diva status, he fakes knee or hamstring pain, and sits the bench while his teammates attempt to win some games.
I mean come on, finish out the season, play every game no matter who the opposing pitcher is, and stop bitching until after the Red Sox win the World Series this year. Furthermore, RUN to first base you egotistical slouch! Make an effort anywhere other than at the plate for a change, eh?
Theo: Trade Him!
Like I said before, Manny does this every year, and I really wish the Red Sox would just trade him away. They could pick up a decent bat and a prospect or two, or a handful of prospects, and be rid of Manny forever. There are plenty of other All-Star caliber players on the Red Sox right now, who could easily take the Sox to the World Series without the complications of Manny.
Manny Ramirez, you are one of the best players in baseball. But at this point, you are sick of the Red Sox, and the Red Sox and all their fans are sick of you too. Good bye and good riddance. If you are still playing for the BoSox in 2009 I will still root for you to hit 40 HRs and 130 RBI, but I won’t like it.

I’m an avid reader of Project Swole and this article must be one of the most entertaining. Thanks for the laughs!
Well I am an avid writer of Project Swole, and I do very much appreciate your kind words. Furthermore, I heard on the way home from work today that the Red Sox and Dodgers were discussing a TRADE involving Manny. I’m going to go check ESPN right now to see if it went through yet. Yahoo!
Steve, I’m not certain how trade-able Manny is with those “sore” knees of his!!!

I don’t have any faith in his being able to pass any team exams anyway, since at this point he’ll likely be forced to pass a mental evaluation in addition to the physical.
He is a lunatic indeed: Manny shows a homemade sign during a game, attempting to make a joke out of the current controversy.
Maybe, just maybe, the Mangina trade rumor will happen. Send him to Florida already!
