Project Swole Redesign

Posted February 16, 2010 in Business 12 Comments »

Hello everyone.

Please bare with me as I roll out the new design and functionality for Project Swole. There will be bugs and glitches, but I promise they will get worked out.

Please let me know what you like or dislike about the new layout, and if you discover anything broken, strange, or unexpected.

You will find most of the site navigation that used to be on the sidebar, now up in drop down menus at the top of the screen.

Thank you for your patience. Some great new content will surely follow, as soon as I can perfect the site.

Best,

Steve

  1. Hi Steve, I read your blog regularly and like Josh T I’ve been having trouble with redirects at home. At work our security system picks up and blocks the issue. Its telling me the issue is related to the URL topsitesfitness.com/button.php?u+stevehnsn Hopefully that can help you in getting things ironed out!

    • Drewboy: That is very strange. Top Sites Fitness doesn’t cause problems for anyone else, and I’m pretty sure it is a clean site. Can you expand on the error message generated by your security system? There was something wrong with Project Swole before I rolled out the new code base, but several security personal have confirmed that the site is now free of malware or any other offensive code. Let me know if you have any other feedback on Project Swole or TopSitesFitness.

    • The blogroll is in the footer and only appears on the homepage. It has extremely limited membership. PhitZone is now included. 🙂 What do you want for anchor text?

  2. What’s Up Steve!?

I am loving the new redesign. Everything looks kosher, and as always, i am eager to read about the stuff you post, because you don’t post b.s. stuff.

Anyways, my real concern, was that a couple days ago (Sunday) i visited your website, and my web browser kept trying to redirect me somewhere else after the page had loaded. Then my Avira Antivirus started waving red flags notifying me that there were viruses found on your page. This has also happened in the past when you were hacked and the website was down for a couple of days.

Sadly, it broke my heart to remove your website from my bookmarks bar, because i didn’t want to risk downloading a virus from your website. But, as it seems, everything is up and running again, and i am happy to see the new site redesign. Are there any added precautions to the redesign that will help you battle with hackers? As i visit your website every time i log on to my computer, i love to read the articles and am constantly consulting the Top 5 workout routines, but i would hate to see your website constantly being attacked by viruses.

Either way, you have helped motivate me to become a better, healthier person, so i am in for the long run. Long Live Project Swole, even if that means i hate to crack open the door and stick my hat out to see if the viruses are biting. LOL j/k

    • Thanks Josh. I’ve tried to lock down my files better, I’ve changed all my passwords, I’ve done everything I can think of to prevent hacking. Going to try to monitor the logs more often and will remove write permissions on nearly everything. That’s the best I can do for now. Hopefully we can stay clean for a while.
