Here’s a special-edition Project Swole guest post for the ladies. Not all of you are out to pluck them clean, some Swole females prefer their eyebrows fuller. Well, here are some excellent eyebrow tips from our friends at The Vera Clinic.

Middle-Easterns can finally rejoice and drop the wax sticks and threading habits, for thick brows are the new black. Celebrities like Cara Delevingne and Lily J Collins fueled the rave on bushy brows with their unapologetically bold eyebrows. Bold brows being in fashion is in the advantage for the select few who didn’t permanently damage their brows with repeated hair removal. If you have naturally thin brows, or you have lost your eyebrows in an accident or as a result of repeated hair removal, below are three ways you can make your brows bigger.

1- Make-up

Makeup is ideal for a hasty solution to the problem. With a brow pencil make the outline of the thickness and length you desire. If the shape of the outline meets your expectations, you can proceed to fill it in. With the pencil, create strokes to mimic the appearance of hair. The ideal eyebrows usually begin at the start of your nostrils. To calculate this place a pencil vertically at the start of your nostril and mark the point. For the ending place a pencil diagonally and have it meet your temple, mark the point with a pencil and connect the dots.

2- Eyebrow transplants

Eyebrow transplants are a permanent solution to fill patched eyebrows or increase the length and width of your eyebrows. The technique extracts hair similar in structure to brow hair, for example, from behind the ears, and later relocates it to the eyebrow area. With this method, you can reshape your eyebrows how you desire.

The transplantation process does not affect the grafts and they continue to regenerate hair growth in the area. Often, between the first and second months, you can expect to experience the shedding of the transplanted hair. This, of course, is an initial part of the process and shouldn’t be a source of concern for you. Since the grafts are still intact, the fallen hair will be replaced with stronger strands.

The results appear within a year’s time for grafts need to adapt to the new location. Once past the one-year mark, you can trim, wax, even dye your hair if you please. The transplanted hair blends well with the original hair and can be treated accordingly. However, it is important to note that similar to how repeated hair removal permanently terminates hair growth in the area, the activity will have the same effect on transplanted hair.

3- Micro-blading

Micro-blading is a semi-permanent eyebrow enhancing treatment. The technique utilizes semi-permanent ink tattoos to create hair-like strokes that give the illusion of natural hair. Depending on the type of tattoo used, the treatment could last anywhere between 1 year to three years.

In summary

Eyebrows through the ages have been subject to various trends. Through the thin and thick, humanity has found ways to reshape eyebrows to fit the requests of fashion. However, it is unfortunate that right after pencil-thin eyebrows bushy brows come into the light. The years of waxing and threading have most probably terminated hair growth in the area.

There are methods to reverse the damage and re-shape the eyebrows. From temporary like makeup to semi-permanent like micro-blading, and finally permanent like eyebrow transplants: the solutions are versatile.
