![]() Health Ranker |
I am a social networking and social bookmarking addict. I have profiles on both Facebook and MySpace, and I bookmark URLs on such sites as Digg, StumbleUpon, Mixx, Propeller, Reddit, Delicious, and HealthRanker. Some of those sites such as Delicious are simply for bookmarking, while others like Digg are for voting on, and commenting on, popular news stories.
Health Ranker is one of my favorite social bookmarking websites due to its health and fitness theme (I hear a new site is coming out soon targeted specifically for exercise and nutrition, but that’s a discussion for a different day). I’ve just never been able to get my hands on a browser bookmarklet for HealthRanker.com. All that changes today…
Bookmarklets
Many social bookmarking websites have a tools page on which they offer various toolbars, images, links, buttons, and other tools to make the bookmarking process easier. Bookmarklets are a type of button that you can drag and drop onto your Firefox bookmarks toolbar, or save as a favorite in Internet Explorer.
It makes too much sense to have a browser button that you can click on just once in order to save the page you are currently reading, or vote for it on a popular social news network. Thus I present you with HealthRanker browser bookmarklets.
Health Ranker Bookmarklet
Search as I may, I have not been able to find browser bookmarklets for HealthRanker.com. I searched their Rank It Buttons page and found nothing. I searched the rest of the Internet and found nothing. So I figure if it’s that hard for me to find a Health Ranker bookmarklet, it’s probably pretty hard for anyone else to find one too.
Now, since the HealthRanker submission page seems to have a problem handling URI encoded links, I have provided firstly a NON-encoded bookmarklet, and below that you will find an encoded bookmarklet.
Not URI Encoded:
Drag this link: Add to Health Ranker! up to your Bookmarks Toolbar.
(Using Internet Explorer? Right-click on the link and choose “Add to Favorites.” Click OK if you receive a security alert; don’t worry, the link is safe! Add the new favorite to your Links folder and you’re all set!)

Please enjoy your free bookmarklets!

Steve, I want to personally thank you for contributing this bookmarklet to the HealthRanker community. We will be featuring it on our tools page, as well as our blog.
Much Thanks!!
It was my pleasure. It’s so much easier now to bookmark web pages with the bookmarklet. However, I’m not sure why it doesn’t work well with URI encoding enabled. In any case, Health Ranker is great!
