Sorry for the absence everyone, I spent two days in the hospital thanks to over-thin blood. My kidney swelled up and stopped working, and I had blood in the urine for a couple days. Fun stuff, right? Sorry if it’s TMI, but it’s my reality.
My Factor V Leiden and antithrombin III (AT!!) deficiency continue to plague my existence. In this case I took too much Warfarin in combination with some of the wrong medications including NyQuil and an over the counter (OTC) supplement called MSM for cartilage and joint health.
So anyway, I went in the hospital with an INR of 9.5, requiring a Vitamin K shot and an infusion of blood plasma. Normally my therapeutic INR is 2.5. After spending 2 days and 1 night in the big H I was released with my INR down to 5ish.
I’ll chill out for a couple days, let the INR come down to 2-3, get some blood tests, and hopefully get on with my life. It’s time to get back to kickboxing and weightlifting.
So that’s it. I want to post more great stuff but I don’t have time right now. Gotta go to a birthday party.
